For the past two weeks, I have had the pleasure to participate in the Sō Percussion Summer Institute 2020. Even though the institute took place online this year, it was an amazing two weeks packed with speakers, workshops, and numerous collaborative projects.
Percussionists McKenzie Squires, Austin Richey, Hunter Gross, and Brian Keith premiered the second movement of my drum set quartet Codex. Having four drummers in four different states playing the piece added an extra layer of wildness and magic to the piece.
